Christmas Party

My church (WFA Church) had a party for children and the youth had to help out. We had to go there early cause we needed to practice the actions for the worship songs. We sang: who is the king of the jungle(its not what u think it is), shalalala(sorry can't find this), My GOD Is So Big(FYI: this is not my church), Jesus Loves The Little Ones Like Me Me Me(this is also not my church), Today Is My Favourite Day(couldn't find this either), Silent Night, and Joy To The World(I'm sure u all know these two, right?).

These are the youths who came (alphabetical order): Anna (drummer), Colleen (lead singer and actions), Jacquelina (Actions, that's me), Jeremy (back-up singer), John (back-up singer), Jocelyn (synthesizer), Lareina (back-up singer) and Lydia (pianist, is she still counted as youth?).

We had to do warm-up game, because Anna was late. We asked the children to do the banana dance, i goes like this: peel peel peel, banana~ eat eat eat, banana~ throw throw throw, banana~ step step step, banana~ And we did a few star jumps too.

After worship, Auntie Gui Wa had a teaching session. She showed a short part from Snoopy. Where Linus recited Luke 2:10-11.

Luke 2:10-11
And the angel said to them,
"Be not afraid; for behold,I bring you good news
of great joy which will come to all the people;
for to you is born this day in the city of David
a Saviour who is Christ the Lord.

Then it was time for games (in charged by me and Colleen, mostly Colleen). The first game was a simple and easy one: Jesus says. You know it's something like Simon says.The next game we played was the pinata game again (the one that we played in the mission trip), we split the children into four groups. The second and fourth group got to play first, cause it would be chaotic if all four played together. They played with my two pinatas that i made first. I was holding one while Colleen held the other one. Poor Colleen, she got hit on the finger. It was easily broken, cause there was only one layer of newspaper and one layer of tissue paper.

Then, when it came to Colleen's pinata, everyone had to put full effort in hitting it to break it open, cause Colleen might have again made it with too flexible material or made it too thick. John and Jeremy were holding it this time and the strings just happen to break. We told Jeremy to put it on the floor, but he insist to hold it (which was dangerous). Well, in the end he still put it on the floor and let them hit it instead.Guess what, Colleen still haven't learn her lesson from the last pinata, that jellos can not be put into a pinata! The jello spilled on the carpet floor of the church, i had to get some water to clean it a bit.

After that, we grouped the children into Team A and Team B, they played basket-ball, it literally means a basket and a ball. You see in the so-called "baby room" we have in church has hand sized soft plastic balls. So all we have to do is, get a basket, get some balls, then it's basket-ball! In total there were two rounds, round one was for the children to throw the balls into a moving basket. Round two, the children had to throw the balls in the basket while sitting down.While picking the balls up, the children were "bullying" Jeremy by throwing the balls at him, trust me it was chaotic!

It was lunch time for the kids, and while they eat, we (the youths) prepared for the next game, Treasure Hunt! We had to hide a few things, towels, deflated balloons and fake presents that looked like sweets. To make it special, we had "moving treasures", means by a few of the youths take a treasure and hide it on a noticeable yet not too noticeable on their body. I had a towel in my hat, but i left a little bit out at the side to be noticeable. Lydia tied a balloon on her wrist, Jocelyn had a red balloon tied on a Santa Claus hat, Jeremy had another balloon tied to his belt. After the gamed ended, there were some who noticed but didn't dare to take it. I guess the children were too shy.

It was time for prizes, Team A won. So they get the slightly bigger prizes, while Team B got the slightly smaller prizes but like i always say, good thing comes in small packages. So if i were them I've taken the small ones, which i did. It came out to be a pink towel with Tom & Jerry on it.

Slowly, the children went home one by one but the youths went back a little later. And we played with the confetti Colleen brought. The funny thing is, Jeremy always, always and always is the target. We shot at him and he was stinky after that, i sprayed some of it on his hair (the next day i was the one who had hair filled with confetti), i think everyone got sprayed but most of us aimed at Jeremy (even the next day in church we shot at him, he had to hide in the toilet) Then Colleen had to go home, but she promised to bring it tomorrow. So the fun end there, and we headed home, cause it's not like I'm gonna stay overnight in the church again.

Christmas Party, The End!
